THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Almost 10 dogs including domestic ones have been found dead. The dogs were found dead at Vanchiyoor in the capital city. The preliminary conclusion is that they were poisoned to death. CCTV visuals of a man feeding them have surfaced. The visuals of a man, who came in a car at 11 pm last night and giving a food package, have been obtained. The locals alleged that despite reporting the incident to the corporation authorities, there was no intervention.

Similar incidents have taken place in other districts of the state in the past few days. Twelve stray dogs were found dead in Kottayam. 12 dogs were found dead on the road near Mulakulam Karikode. A dog was found hanging near Perunna Subramanyam temple. Stray dog nuisance was rampant in both the places. After the rampage of stray dog attacks, the secret killing of dogs by poisoning became widespread. On examination it was found that the poison had entered the bodies of the dogs. A case has been filed under Section 429 of the Indian Penal Code for cruelty towards animals even if the person who killed the dogs is not known.
