IDUKKI: CPM Kannur District Secretary MV Jayarajan has said that even women who have stopped giving birth will feel like giving birth again if they reach the government hospital in Kannur. Jayarajan made the statement during a public meeting in Idukki. The meeting was organised to hand over a family welfare fund to slain SFI activist Dheeraj Rajendran’s family.

Talking about the progress made in the field of health during the LDF regime, Jayarajan said, "I have not directly visited the hospitals in Idukki. However, I have visited a government hospital in Kannur. Upon visiting the hospital, I felt that even women who have stopped giving birth may feel like giving birth again."

"I'm not exaggerating. Hospitals have improved, doctors have come, and medicines are available, thanks to the health policy brought by the Left government. We were saved during the Covid period only because the hospitals have improved," Jayarajan said.

Jayarajan also lashed out at Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan. Jayarajan went on to say that the name 'goon' is suitable to the governor and not Dr Irfan Habib.

The CPM Idukki District Committee had collected Rs.1 crore and fifty-eight lakhs for the family of slain SFI leader Dheeraj. This amount was handed over to Dheeraj's family members and Dheeraj's classmates Amal and Abhijith under the leadership of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
