THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: No need to worry about missing classes in school anymore. Videos of the class will be available together with PDFs to read and learn.

Now, Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) has developed an app for students to catch up on missed classes. The app is estimated to help 42 lakh students in the state.

The main feature of this is that the teachers’ instructions can be recorded and stored in PDF format. The things done on the board can be recorded using screen record and can be used by those who missed the class. Even experiments and other class works can be recorded by laptop camera and shown through KITE Board.

KITE CEO, Anwar Sadat, said that KITE will be available on all the laptops in every school by October. Teachers will be trained in the software by KITE and KSK and will be given training on the model of ‘Techy Teacher'.

Education Minister, V Sivankutty inaugurated the KITE project at his office. The minister said that KITE will be able to provide a more joyful education experience in the classroom.

The KITE will make it possible to use a laptop as a blackboard and will be able to type and write and show it using a projector. KITE Board is the free software that can be used in the operating system provided by KITE to all schools.
