Fire breaks out at a restaurant in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A fire broke out at a restaurant in the middle of the capital city at Vellayambalam junction. No casualties are reported. The hotel, Salwa Dine, situated on the Vellayambalam – Sasthamangalam road caught fire by 4 pm.

It is believed that the fire began in the kitchen’s tandoori oven. The fire quickly spread to the top floor. The customers who were dining at the restaurant were evacuated quickly, once the fire was noticed. The fire was doused soon after the firefighters from different areas reached the spot.

Quick response by the fire force averted the fire from spreading to nearby shops.
