Krithikesh and Pournami of Pandalam Palace to draw lots to select melsanthis of Sabarimala and Malikappuram

PATHANAMTHITTA: Reports said Krithikesh Varma and Pournami G Varma of 1198 M E Pandalam Palace have been selected to draw the lots to select the new Sabarimala melsanthi and the Malikappuram melsanthi respectively.

The children were selected jointly by Pandalam Palace Valiya Thampuran Makayiram Nal Raghava Varma Thampuran and Pandalam palace managing committee. The children will be sent for drawing the lots as directed by Pandalam Palace Valiya Thampuram based on the mediation report of retired justice K T Thomas as per Supreme Court’s order in 2011.

The lots to select the melsanthis serving for a year will be drawn on October 18 in Sannidhanam. Krithikesh Varma will select the melsanthi of Sabarimala and Pournami that of Malikappuram.

Krithikesh is the son of Anoop Varma of Pandalam Mundakkal Palace and Parvathy Varma of Ernakulam Mangala Madom. Krithikesh is studying in the first standard in Ernakulam Girinagar Bhavans Vidya Mandir School.

Pournami Varma is the daughter of Dr Girish Varma of Pandalam Srambikkal Palace and Saritha Varma of Edapally Lakshmi Vilasam. She is studying in the fourth class in Delhi Public School in Doha.
