NEW DELHI: The CPI Kerala unit has demanded an alliance with the Congress party, on a national level, at the CPI Party Congress. They criticized following the CPI(M)’s strategy of a hidden alliance with the Congress party and said that there must be clarity to the alternative alliance.

Meanwhile, the CPI Party Congress has decided to fix the age limit to be appointed to party positions at 75. This decision came after the organizational report criticized the lack of youths in the leadership. Leniency might be given to states where the number of council members is small. A vote is necessary for this.

Discussions are continuing in the Party Congress on the draft organizational report, which demands changes to the party workings and on the political resolution of the party.
