NEW DELHI: Justice DY Chandrachud has been appointed as the 50th Chief Justice of India. Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju took to Twitter to make the announcement. He is set to take oath on November 9. Earlier, reports had came out that Justice DY Chandrachud will succeed UU Lalit as the next CJI. Chief Justice UU Lalit had also recommended him as his successor. Justice DY Chandrachud is currently the second most senior judge in the Supreme Court.
