KOCHI: The NIA court on Monday issued a stern warning to the Popular Front activists for snapping pictures of the NIA agents who arrived to take the arrested PFI into custody. The pictures were clicked by the relatives of the arrested PFI leaders. Following this, the NIA officials informed the court about this. After investigating the situation, the court ruled that taking photos under suspicious conditions was a severe concern. It then issued a stern warning to the relatives of the accused not to repeat such a thing on the court premises.
The court was considering NIA's application seeking the custody of the five PFI leaders arrested from Kerala. The NIA had demanded that the accused should be interrogated for more days citing the new evidence obtained based on the examination of their social media accounts. The court sent the accused Karamana Ashraf Moulavi, Yahia Yoya Thangal Abdul Sathar, K Mohammad Ali and CT Sulaiman to three-day NIA custody for questioning
