Chance of heavy rain in state today; yellow alert in six districts, low pressure formed in Bay of Bengal likely to intensify into cyclonic storm

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is a possibility of heavy rain to lash at isolated places in the state today. Yellow alert has been sounded in Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode and Wayanad.

The Central Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of rain at isolated places in all the districts of Kerala in the next three hours. Low pressure formed in Bay of Bengal and is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm. Fishing has been banned in Kerala and Lakshadweep coasts.

A cyclone exists in South East Arabian Sea near the coast of Kerala. As a result, widespread rain is likely till October 23. Yellow alert has been declared in Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kozhikode and Wayanad tomorrow and in Palakkad, Malappuram, Kannur and Kasaragod on Sunday.
