KOCHI: Seena, wife of deceased Simon Britto, has filed a complaint against the police with the Kochi City Police Commissioner. In the complaint, she alleges that the police broke open her house in Vaduthala in Ernakulam while she was not there and her daughter's ten sovereigns of gold jewellery have gone missing. The allegation has been raised against the Njarakkal police.
The complaint is that the group broke into the house claiming that a person accused in a stabbing case is hiding somewhere near. In the complaint, it is said that apart from jewellery, the awards received by Simon Britto were also lost and the police ransacked the house with the help of anti-social people. Seena was in Delhi in connection with her daughter's academic needs when the police barged in. Her relatives lived in the next house, but the police did not tell them. The complaint also states that she had rented out the house a month ago.
The incident took place on Monday morning. The police broke open the door of the house and entered. Although the house was rented out, jewellery and other things were kept in the house. The police were looking for Lipin Joseph, a member of Kochi's gangster Bhai Nazir's group, in the case of possession of a weapon. According to the tower location, the accused was in a house in Vaduthala and the police came to the house based on this, says Njarakkal police.
Seena has rented the house to Vishnu, a native of Alappuzha. It is suspected that he, who is an SFI worker, is accused in some cases earlier. The police concluded that Lipin Joseph and Vishnu lived in this house. At the same time, the police say that they did not know that the house belonged to Simon Britto.
