Migrant worker trapped under mud for hours following wall collapse, rescued by fire force and locals

KOTTAYAM: An under-construction wall of a house collapsed here in Mariapally leaving a migrant worker trapped under mud for hours. Bengal native Sushant, who was trapped under the mud, was rescued by the fire force and locals after much effort. The mud was removed with a JCB.

Rescue operations were carried out by police, fire force and locals. Officials informed that the rescue operation was difficult due to the possibility of another mud collapse. Fortunately. Sushant's head wasn't trapped under the mud.

The accident occurred while trying to move the soil for building a wall. Four migrant workers were involved in the accident. Three were rescued by locals and the fire force at first but it took a two-hour effort to rescue Nishant.
