NEW DELHI: Key information in the murder of a live-in partner by a man and chopping her into 35 pieces has now surfaced. As per reports, the water bill of Aftab Poonawalla, the accused in the case, might be a piece of crucial evidence. In Delhi, 20,000 liters of water is free per month. While all of his neighbours get a bill close to zero normally, Aftab was recently given a bill of Rs 300.

The police suspect that the tap may have been left the tap open so that the people living nearby could not hear the sound of the body being chopped, and more water may have been used to remove the blood stain on the floor. Officials said that they will look into this in detail.

Aftab and Shraddha moved into the rented flat on May 14. Neighbours say that he was living alone since May 18.

Owner Rohan Kumar's father Rajendra Kumar said that the flat was rented to Shraddha and Aftab for Rs 9,000 per month. The names of Shraddha and Aftab were on the rental agreement. He clarified that he did not have to go to the flat as the rent was paid online every month between 8th and 10th.
