KOLLAM: It has been alleged that a youth was detained and beaten up at Aryankavu forest station without reason. Aryankavu native Sandeep was beaten up by the forest officials. It is alleged that the forest officials tied him in a cell and brutally beat him up without filing a case. The footage of bruised Sandeep standing in the cell has come out.

According to Sandeep, the forest officials led by the Deputy Range Officer unjustly detained him and assaulted him. However, according to the forest officers, Sandeep entered the station and attacked them first. They claimed that after he attacked them, they moved him to the cell. After Sandeep's complaint came out, Forest Minister AK Saseendran directed the Thenmala DFO to submit an urgent investigation report on the matter.
