Suicide attempt inside court; accused cuts wrist using blade

KOCHI: An accused reportedly attempted to commit suicide in Ernakulam sub court. Thansir, an accused in robbery case attempted suicide by cutting his wrist. He was admitted to Ernakulam General Hospital. It is reported that Thansir is not in critical condition. He is a native of Ernakulam.

The incident took place today afternoon. Thansir got jailed in a robbery case and when he was brought for trial in court, he attempted suicide by cutting his wrists using a blade. The police informed that he was a drug addict earlier and further investigation will be conducted into the incident. It is still not clear how the accused obtained the blade.
