ALAPPUZHA: The Excise Department has seized 210 bottles of Pondicherry-made liquor from Pallana in Karthikappally. Two people have been arrested. The Excise team seized the Pondicherry-made liquor in a surprise inspection conducted on the basis of the information received by Alappuzha IB that a large amount of Pondicherry liquor was being stocked and sold.

The arrested persons are Thottappally natives Akhil and Rakesh. A third accused named Praveen fled the spot. 105 litres of Pondicherry liquor was seized from them. It is believed that Praveen was the one who was delivering liquor from Pondicherry.
