Youth dies after being brutally beaten up by moral police; two arrested

KASARAGOD: A youth, Priyesh, was brutally thrashed and killed while he was standing near the house of a woman at Thrikaripur in Kasaragod. The police confirmed that the attack was result of moral policing and arrested two, Muhammad Shabas, 22, and Muhammad Rahnaz, 23. Another accused, Safwan, 25, is absconding.

Three more persons are involved in the attack and the police are investigating about them.

The incident took place on Sunday night at 10 pm when some youths saw Priyesh near the house of a woman. The accused persons arrived on the spot hearing of this and thrashed him brutally and killed him. After this his dead body was carried on a bullet keeping the body in the middle. It was abandoned in the field near his house. Priyesh’s missing mobile phone was recovered from Shabas’ house.

Shabas works in a hotel in Bengaluru. Rahnaz had returned only recently returned from Malaysia. Priyesh had left his home after getting a phone call said his mother. The police is investigating whose phone call it was.
