arrest

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have arrested a person for swindling money from traders from Tamil Nadu of Rs.35 lakhs. He took control of the 28 loads of vegetables and brought to Chala and sold. The arrested, Shamim, is from Kasaragod. He told the traders that he runs a canteen at Pangode Military Camp.

In October, Shamim took goods from Sundar Raj and from Rafeeq by furnishing fake orders. He then took the vegetables and sold to main vegetable shops at low price and got money.

He then showed fake pay-in slips with fake seals etc. to the merchants to show that he had already paid them. When the merchants realized that money has not been credited to their accounts, they went to Poojapura police station to file a complaint. Shamim was caught from Thirumala.
