IPL auction: Sam Curran becomes most expensive buy, goes to Punjab Kings for Rs 18.50 cr

KOCHI: England players have struck gold in the ongoing IPL mega auction. Punjab Kings have acquired the services of Sam Curran for a record fee of Rs 18.50 crore rupees. This is the highest amount paid to a player in the history of IPL. Australia's Cameron Green was bought by Mumbai Indians for Rs 17.50 crore. Chennai Super Kings also bought Ben Stokes for Rs 16.25 crore. English player Harry Brook was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a fee of Rs 13.25 crore. The Hyderabad side also signed Mayank Agarwal for Rs 8.25 crore.

New Zealand star Kane Williamson was acquired by Gujarat Titans for Rs 2 crore. Ajinkya Rahane was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 50 lakh. Zimbabwe's Sikander Raza will play for Punjab Kings after he was bought for Rs 50 lakh. Odin Smith joined Gujarat Titans for Rs 50 Lakhs. England player Joe Root and South Africa player Rilee Rossouw went unsold.
