pinarayi-criticism

KOZHIKODE: A police officer who criticized chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan over the KR Narayanan institute row has been handed a punishment transfer with immediate effect. Farook station CPO U Umesh was at the receiving end of fury from the government and was transferred to Pathanamthitta. The criticism from the officer came on Facebook and was a scathing one that directed tirades at Pinarayi Vijayan for letting loose the issue to garner widespread media attention. Yesterday, the director of KR Narayanan institute resigned, ending partially the long protest held by students over the casteist remarks from the officials.
