Rajamouli's film ‘RRR’ gives another hope for India at the Oscars. The song ‘Nattu Nattu’ from the film received a nomination for Best Original Song. After winning the award in the same category at the Golden Globe, the song also received an Oscar nomination.

The song 'Nattu Nattu' from ‘RRR’ which has won international awards including Golden Globe and Critic's Choice, is competing for the Oscar along with songs from films like ‘Avatar’ and ‘Black Panther’. ‘Nattu Nattu’ also earned ‘RRR’ the title of being India's first regional film to win a Golden Globe.

‘Nattu Nattu’ is written by Chandra Bose. Renowned music director M.M. Keeravani composed the four-and-a-half-minute long song. Keeravani's son Kalabhairava and Rahul Sipligunj are the lead singers. Superstars Ram Charan Teja and Junior NTR danced for the song. Prem Rakshit completed the choreography in 19 months.

The song was filmed in 2021 in front of the Mariinskyi Palace, the official residence of President Volodymyr Zelensky before the start of the war in Ukraine. AR Rahman first brought the Golden Globe Award and Oscar to India, 14 years earlier. The Indian film world is anxious to see if history will repeat itself with RRR's nomination.

Apart from ‘RRR’, India has also bagged nominations in the documentary category. 'The Elephant Whisperers' received nominations in the Short Documentary category and 'All That Breathes' in the Documentary Feature category.
