NEW DELHI: Congress and RJD workers allegedly clashed during 'INDIA' bloc's rally in Jharkhand. The seat sharing dispute led to the scuffle between the allies. Two people were injured.
The dispute was related to the candidature of RJD leader KN Tripathi. The RJD was angered by the Congress unilaterally announcing its candidate in Chatra, a Lok Sabha constituency. While the leaders were on the stage, the workers shouted abuses and tossed chairs at each other. After this, leaders intervened and settled the issue. Tripathi claimed that outsiders had infiltrated the rally with a motive to create chaos and disorder.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the incident. He said that the alliance is hollow and would fall apart once the elections are over. He said that the power-hungry leaders had come together in the name of an alliance and the people had lost faith in them.
