Soldier dies after returning to duty one week into his marriage

MALAPPURAM: A soldier, who returned to duty after his nikah a week ago, died in Kashmir's Ladakh. Kolothumthodi Nufail (27), hailing from Kuni and a sepoy in the Army Postal Service, has been identified as the deceased. The relatives got the information that he died due to illness. The body will be brought home.

Nufail has been serving in the army for eight years and has been in Kashmir for two years. He came home at the end of December. He returned on January 22nd after getting married to a native of Mukkam's Kulangara on January 2. His untimely demise came when he was expected to shift to Coimbatore. He called his wife at 10.30 am on Thursday and was reported dead at 9:30 pm.

Nufail's father is the deceased Mohammad Kunjan. His mother Amina and Nufail's sister are in the house in Kuni. He also served in Assam and Meghalaya.
