SI injured as bike knocks him down during vehicle inspection

KOCHI: A bike driver hit an SI during vehicle inspection in Kochi. The incident happened yesterday. SI Santhosh was injured in the accident. The vehicle didn’t stop after it hit the SI. The bike was overspeeding after seeing the police. The police tried to stop the bike and the SI was hit during this. He has fracture in his arm. An investigation has been launched to find the accused. There were two people in the bike. The CCTV visuals are also being inspected.

Meanwhile, a woman and a bike rider died after an accident during bike racing. The deceased have been identified as Sandhya (55) and Aravind (24). The rider is a native of Pottakuzhi in Pattom. He died during treatment. The bike hit the woman during racing. The accident happened when Sandhya was crossing the road today morning. She died on the spot itself.
