Foreign woman insulted in Vizhinjam: Case registered against five persons including taxi driver

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have registered a case in the incident where a group of men tried to insult a foreign woman in Vizhinjam. The Vizhinjam police registered a case against a taxi driver named Anthony and his gang for harassing a foreign woman by following her on the beach. The incident took place on Tuesday night in Adimalathura. Police also registered another case against Antony and the gang for beating up the resort staff who questioned them for disturbing the woman while walking on the beach.

The woman had earlier travelled in Antony's taxi. He took advantage of this relationship and obtained her phone number. It is reported that he had harassed the woman over the phone as well. The gang had beaten up Chef Raj Sheikh, who tried to stop them from insulting the woman. The police have recorded the statement of the foreign woman in the incident. The search for the accused is going on vigorously.
