Ben Stokes ruled out of fifth Test against India; Big setback for England

LONDON: The final Test match of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy will start at the Oval tomorrow. England, who are currently leading the series 2-1, suffered a last-minute setback today. Captain Ben Stokes will not be there to lead the team. Stokes is out due to a right shoulder injury. Ollie Pope will lead England in Stokes' absence.

Stokes, judged the man of the match in the last test, is an inseparable presence in the team. In the last four tests, Stokes scored 304 runs and took 17 wickets. Apart from Stokes, pace bowlers Jofra Archer and Brydon Carse will not be in the playing eleven. They will be replaced by Jacob Bethell and bowlers Gus Atkinson and Jamie Overton.

England squad: Zac Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope (captain), Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jacob Bethell, Jamie Smith (wicketkeeper), Chris Woakes, Gus Atkinson, Jamie Overton, Josh Tongue.
