Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni will be facing a huge loss as he has invested in a green mobility startup called Bluesmart. Bluesmart has stopped its cab services in Delhi NCR, Mumbai and other cities after its founders were accused of financial misappropriation and the company is facing financial difficulties.
The company had sent an email to its customers on April 17, saying that it had decided to temporarily close bookings on the BluSmart app. The Bengaluru-based green mobility startup was launched in 2018 and quickly became popular.
Many prominent personalities had invested in it. The company has reportedly raised over Rs 4,100 crore from investors but now things are heading towards uncertainty. Bollywood star Deepika Padukone and industrialist Sanjiv Bajaj have also invested money.
Bluesmart's co-founders Anmol Singh Jaggi and Puneet Singh Jaggi, who are promoters of Gensol Engineering Company, are accused of misusing the loan amount taken in the name of the company. They reportedly spent over Rs 260 crore on luxury items like residential flats and travel. The Jaggi brothers reportedly own 33 per cent stake in Bluesmart.
