JAIPUR: Things are not good at the moment for Rajasthan Royals, amidst their dire attempt to wriggle out of the losing streak. According to reports, captain Sanju Samson will not be travelling to Bengaluru to play in the next match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. The Rajasthan Royals management officially announced this on Monday.

Sanju, who was injured while batting in the match against Delhi Capitals, is yet to recover. Therefore, it is now certain that the player will not be in the squad in the next match either. Sanju will continue in Jaipur. A team of expert doctors is monitoring the player's injury. Sanju did not play in the match against Lucknow Super Giants either. It was youngster Riyan Parag who took the captain's cap in the match. It has only been clarified that Parag will lead the team in Sanju's absence.

Sanju’s latest IPL season has gone upside down by the severity of his injury. Despite being brought in as an impact player in one match, the Keralite couldn’t shine. In the final T20 match of the series against England, which took place just before the IPL, the player had to undergo surgery after being hit in the finger by Jofra Archer's ball and had to rest for several weeks.
