DHAKA: Former Bangladesh captain Tamil Iqbal has been admitted to hospital after he suffered a heart attack. Tamim was taken to the hospital after he complained of chest pain during a Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match. The 36-year-old Tamim is the captain of the Mohammedan Sporting Club in the tournament. He suffered a heart attack during a match against the Shinepukur Cricket Club. After receiving initial medical assistance, he was transferred to the hospital.

After undergoing tests at the hospital, Tamim requested to be taken back to Dhaka. However, on his way back, he experienced chest pain again in the ambulance. He was then taken to the hospital for the second time and it was confirmed that he had a massive heart attack. Bangladeshi media reports have stated that procedures have been initiated to subject the cricketer to surgery.
