'Witchhunt started after he acted alongside Kavya in Anandabhadram; Mallika knew everything'

Actress Mallika Sukumaran had to jump into action many times recently to come to the aid of her son Prithviraj, who was at the receiving end of criticism for all odd reasons. Empuraan controversy, the decision taken by the actor’s organisation AMMA and the dialogues used in Dileep’s recent movie ‘Bha Bha Ba’ purportedly referring to Prithviraj’s statement in the actress assault case, invited Mallika’s strong response.

Alleppey Ashraf, film director and YouTuber, talked more about Mallika Sukumaran in his recent post on social media.

Mallika Sukumaran:

“Many within the industry fear Mallika Sukumaran because she is forthright in her stance. When Dileep was acquitted in the actress attack case, Mallika dared to ask, “If not the actor, then whose brain planned the kidnap and assault?”

Despite knowing of the retribution, Mallika and her two children remained steadfast with the victim in the actress assault case. They never wavered in their stance despite facing pressure and criticism.

Even Women In Cinema Collective faced the criticism from Mallika, which showed that she was one of the few in the industry without any bias. After the Hema Committee report was released, a secret committee was formed in the star organisation AMMA. Later, the actresses who faced horrific ordeals opened up their experiences with the committee. The video of this was recorded, but the memory card eventually got lost. The incident saw Mallika coming out strongly against the organisation. For openly pointing out the injustices happening in AMMA, Mallika has faced criticism and even mockery from insiders.

A cabal trying to end Prithviraj’s cinema career was a long rumour existing in the indsurty and Mallika was aware of it. Since the day ‘Anandhabhadram’ released, there have been concerted efforts to sideline Prithivaraj. Many say it was Dileep who turned against the actor as the latter was cast opposite Kavya in the film. However, Mallika has never cared to ask Dileep about anything concerned with the issue. Prithviraj, meanwhile, established his presence and turned out to be a superstar in the industry.”
