WASHINGTON: Indian-origin Kash Patel was appointed as the new director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the US. Kash assumed the office by taking oath on the Bhagavad Gita.
US Attorney General Pam Bondi administered the oath of office. The ceremony was held at the White House in Washington. After the swearing-in, US President Donald Trump praised Kash Patel.
“Kash is the perfect man to fill this position. I didn't have to think twice about it. His appointment was very easy. He is a tough and strong guy and probably will go down as the best to ever be in that position. The agents have great respect for him.” Said Donald Trump.
Kash Patel was selected for this post last Thursday. The tenure of the FBI director is 10 years.
Kash served on the US National Security Council during Trump's first presidential term. Kash, a lawyer, is also a close supporter of Trump. Kash's parents migrated from Gujarat to East Africa and then to the US. His official name is Kashyap Patel.
