Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan gets rousing reception in Kuwait

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan received a warm welcome upon arriving in Kuwait, where he will be part of various events for the next two days. Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah received the Chief Minister at Al Bayan Palace. Kuwaiti Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Investment Authority, Dr Sabeeh Al-Mukhaizeem, was also present.

The meeting mentioned the historical ties between India and Kuwait. Sheikh Fahad praised the services provided by the Indian community, including Malayalees, in the reconstruction of Kuwait. The Chief Minister thanked Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad, who is also the Home Minister, for the cooperation and support provided by the Kuwaiti government to the Kerala community. The Chief Minister explained the investment situation in various sectors of Kerala in the meeting. Chief Secretary Dr Jayathilak and Lulu Group Chairman M.A. Yusuf Ali also attended the meetings.

The Chief Minister also met with Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Member of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Investment Authority. Sheikh Mishal informed the Chief Minister that a delegation from Kuwait would visit Kerala to discuss investment opportunities in Kerala.

Earlier, the Chief Minister was received at the Kuwait International Airport by representatives of the Indian Embassy, ​​members of the Loka Kerala Sabha, and office bearers of the Malayalam Mission and Kala Kuwait.

The Chief Minister will address the Malayali community in Kuwait in a conference to be held at the Al Arabi Indoor Stadium in Mansouria on Friday at 7 pm IST.
