Expat ends life on video call in Saudi Arabia after fight with wife

RIYADH: An expatriate committed suicide following a verbal dispute with his wife. The youth identified as Muhammed Ansari (24) of Muzaffarnagar ended his life in Saudi Arabia. The incident happened on last Sunday.

Ansari married Sania six months ago. Ansari had left for Saudi Arabia, two and a half months ago for work. He made a video call as usual on Sunday evening. During the conversation, the two had an argument. Then, while Sania was watching, Ansari hung himself from a fan during the video call. Sania, who was frightened, immediately informed his relatives in Saudi Arabia, but by the time they reached, Ansari was dead.

Ansari's relative Amzad Ali said the procedures to bring Ansari's body back to the country are in progress. The family also said that they have sought the help of the Indian Embassy to remove legal obstacles. Meanwhile, the police announced that a case has been registered in the incident and that they will investigate the reason for the altercation between the couple.
