Massive explosion at Iran's Bandar Abbas port, four killed, over 500 injured

TEHRAN: Four people were killed in a massive explosion at the strategic port of Bandar Abbas in southern Iran. Iran said 562 people were hospitalized with injuries. There are reports that the death toll could rise as many are in critical condition. It is believed that a fuel tanker or a container filled with chemicals exploded. However, Iran has not confirmed this. Iran's president has ordered a detailed investigation into the incident.

The explosion occurred as the third round of nuclear talks between Iran and the United States was starting in the United States. The Bandar Abbas port was suspended following the explosion. The explosion also damaged several buildings in the area. Rescue operations are reportedly almost complete.
