GYEONGSANGNAM DO: In a tragic incident, a South Korean man was killed after an Industrial robot crushed him to death. The worker was killed in Gyeongsangnam-do province, who had come to monitor the operation of robots sorting and packing vegetables and fixing malfunctions.

The incident took place while boxes containing bell papers were being lifted and placed on pallets. While observing the operation of the machines, the robot picked up the worker mistaking it for a vegetable and strangled him to death. Two days ago, he had received a complaint that the robot's sensor was faulty and he had come to check it. He was immediately rescued from the robot and rushed to the hospital, but his life could not be saved.

After the incident, the vegetable trading organization asked the robot company to have a safer method for the operation of the robot. This is the second such incident in South Korea this year. In March, a man in his fifties from South Korea was seriously injured after becoming trapped by a robot while working at an automobile parts manufacturing plant.
