CANBERRA: 20-year-old Charlotte Summers from Australia has given birth to a baby boy just 17 hours after discovering she was pregnant. Doctors said that she was pregnant due to a rare condition called 'cryptic pregnancy'. This is a condition where you only realize you are pregnant at the very end of pregnancy or when you feel labor pains.

The woman revealed this through TikTok. 'Although there were obvious changes in her body, she did not realize that she was pregnant. She was in a relationship for two and a half years. She thought that the weight gain was because she had a happy relationship. She met a doctor on June 6. The doctor asked her to get tested to see if she was pregnant. The result was positive. Moreover, he said that she was in the last stages of pregnancy. The ultrasound scan revealed that she was 38 weeks and four days pregnant.

For a moment, felt like was losing consciousness. Then everything was in a hurry.

The placenta was positioned at the front which might have hidden the pregnancy. She continued using birth control and had regular periods. This may be the reason why could not detect the pregnancy. The doctors found that there was no fluid around the baby. I gave birth after two hours,’ she said. The doctors said both the mother and baby are doing well.

'Cryptic pregnancy' is rare. It goes unnoticed due to minimal symptoms. In such cases, women may bleed. The baby's movement is very little. Or not felt at all. Weight gain is also very little.
