KARACHI: The Pakistan government has announced a compensation of Rs 14 crore for Masood Azhar, terrorist and chief of the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had informed that the legal heirs of those killed in the Indian retaliation for the Pahalgam attack will be given Rs 1 crore each as compensation. Azhar is receiving a huge amount as compensation as part of this. The Indian army killed fourteen people, including his 10 close relatives and four aides. Azhar's elder sister and husband were among the dead.
It is reported that there are no close relatives of Azhar left. If that is true, Azhar will reportedly get Rs 14 crore. The compensation plan also includes assistance to rebuild houses damaged in the airstrike. According to this, the Pakistani government will also build a new house for Azhar. Azhar's residence was demolished by the Indian army.
Meanwhile, allegations are levelled from within the country that Pakistan is taking steps to help terrorists under the guise of compensation. The Indian army only targeted and destroyed terrorist camps and training camps. India did not attack any civilian centers. While this is the truth, the accusation is that the announcement of providing assistance to those killed in the attack is to help terrorists like Masood Azhar. However, Pakistan said that many civilians and their homes have been damaged in the attack.
