MUNICH: Michael Schumacher, the legendary German Formula 1 driver with record seven World Championship titles, is reportedly recovering after lying in a coma for 12 years. The giant of Formula racing suffered a serious head injury while skiing off-piste in Méribel, and is now reportedly getting out of bed, leaning back and moving around his home in a wheelchair.

There are no photos to prove the veracity of the miraculous health recovery of Schumacher, but reliable sources from international media outlets, including the Daily Mail calls the report authentic.

The tragedy occurred in 2013 while Schumacher was skiing with his son in Meribel resort in the French Alps. The helmet he wore was shattered by the impact of the crash. Schumacher currently lives in the star's 50-million-euro house near Lake Geneva. Schumacher receives strong support and help from his wife Corina, who has been with him for three decades. Schumacher was a seven-time Formula One racing champion.

A team of doctors and nurses are with the star 24 hours a day. They are also providing specialist treatment for the star's nervous system. Doctors say that Schumacher is now aware of what is happening around him as a result of the treatment. Earlier reports said that Schumacher was in a coma, unable to recognise anything except blinking. The family has not released a single picture of the star in the last 12 years.
