'Yes...I am fighting cancer'; Kate Middleton puts health rumours to rest, watch video

LONDON: The long hullaballoo surrounding the health of Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, took a turn on Friday night after the princess herself in a video testimony confirmed being affected by cancer. In the video message, the princess also informed her viewers about starting chemotherapy to fight the disease.

The 42-year-old princess of Kensington Palace made a dubious exit from the limelight in January 2024 which caught many by surprise. People and mostly critics of the palace started to engage in blithe talks about health concerns while some others enacted the role of a gumshoe to unearth the real reason behind her exit from the public stage.

Princess Kate explained in the video that the cancer was detected in the tests that were carried out after her abdominal surgery in January. She appeared on the video to clear the air and put an end to the egregious rumours circling her health and about the palace.

“I am currently in the early stages of chemotherapy. William and I were in great shock when we got to know about the disease. It was one of the most incredibly tough couple of months for our family. However, thank you for the love you have showered on me. I have a fantastic medical team and from now on, I will have to concentrate more on my health and will be taking a hiatus from the public. At this time, I am thinking about every person affected by cancer in whatever form. Please don’t lose faith and hope.
