Youth attacks salon employees for charging extra Rs 20 for hair cut

KOCHI: The accused who entered a salon and attacked an employee for charging extra Rs 20 for a haircut has been arrested. The Kadavanthra police arrested Subesh (47) of Panampally Nagar. He will be produced in the court today. He attacked the employees with a hammer. CCTV footage of the incident has emerged.

The incident happened at around 9 pm last night at a salon under the Ernakulam South Bridge. Subesh came there and attacked the migrant employees with a hammer. He told the employees that they charged Rs 100 for a haircut two weeks ago and that the other salon nearby charges only Rs 80. He started fighting in the name of it. When he started hurling abuses, the employees asked him to leave. Angered by this, he went home and brought a hammer and attacked them.


One of the employees identified as Nizamuddin stopped him with his hand when he tried to hit him on his head with a hammer. The employee fractured his hand in the attack. The Kadavanthra police arrived and took him to the hospital. The police later went to Subesh's house and took him into custody. Police said that he was drunk. The locals said that he is a regular troublemaker.
