11-year-old drowns at hotel's swimming pool

KOCHI: Rino George (11), son of Shibu and Reba from Vayala Pothammaki in Kottayam's Pala, drowned in the swimming pool of Wellington Island Casino Hotel. Rino arrived at the hotel as part of a trip with his mother's younger sister's family. The boy was rushed to Port Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. The body is in the mortuary of Ernakulam General Hospital. Harbor police said the parents had arrived from Palau and the body would be released after the postmortem today.
