Actor Maniyanpilla Raju said that he suggested the name of Prithviraj for the film 'Nandanam' after meeting him at a barber shop. He said this at the function organized to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Mallika Sukumaran's film career. The function was held at Apollo Dimora on Sunday.
‘Director Ranjith called from Kozhikode and told me that he is going to start a new film. He said that he wants a youth to act in it. I immediately told him that I saw a guy, son of actors Sukumaran and Mallika, this afternoon at a barber shop. I told him that he is very handsome. I told him that I had seen him when I was young. He is studying in Australia. He is here now after the exams. The director entrusted me to talk to Mallika about this and I did that. The very next day, Mallika sent Prithviraj to Ranjith. Ranjith then called me and said there is no one beyond this. I will cast him as the hero in Nandanam. Mallika and Prithviraj have that love towards me,’ said Maniyanpilla Raju.
Maniyanpilla Raju added that he was able to produce the film 'Ananthabhadram' with Prithviraj in 2005 which was a superhit. He said the film 'Pavada' taken in 2015 was also a hit.
