Now, the makers of Drishyam have thrilled fans with a major update regarding the highly anticipated third instalment. Taking to social media, the team revealed that the filming for Drishyam 3 is set to commence in October 2025.
Sharing a video along with the update, Mohanlal wrote, 'October 2025 — the camera turns back to Georgekutty. The past never stays silent.' The announcement has generated significant buzz among fans who have been waiting eagerly for the next chapter in Georgekutty’s gripping story.
The franchise’s first instalment achieved remarkable commercial success and critical acclaim, paving the way for a sequel that was met with similar enthusiasm. Backed by Antony Perumbavoor under the Aashirvad Cinemas banner, both films emerged as landmark achievements in Malayalam cinema, leading to ongoing speculation about the possibility of a third film.
Mohanlal recently confirmed the development of Drishyam 3 during an interview with Suhasini for Galatta Tamil, further fuelling anticipation.
Written and directed by Jeethu Joseph, the Drishyam series features a strong ensemble cast including Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Asha Sharath, Irshad, Roshan Basheer, Aneesh G Menon, Kunchan, Kozhikode Narayanan Nair, P. Sreekumar, Shobha Mohan, Kalabhavan Rahman, Kalabhavan Haneef, Balaji Sharma, Sony G Solomon, Pradeep Chandran, Arun S., and Antony Perumbavoor. Most of the original cast reprised their roles in the sequel.
