Malayalam superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal are reuniting after a gap of eleven years. The film reuniting the two will be shot in Sri Lanka. Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, the film will be jointly produced by Mammootty's company and Aashirvad Cinemas. No other information about the film has been released.
The crew had a meeting with Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena regarding the shooting of the film on September 15. The meeting was held at the Prime Minister's residence. Malayalam Cinema Producers Association president Anto Joseph, director Mahesh Narayanan and producer C V Sarathi held the meeting.
MP Yadamini Gunawardhana and Advisor Sugeswara Senadhira also participated in the discussion. The film will be shot in Sri Lanka for 30 days. The film will also be shot in Kerala, Delhi and London. Meantime, Sri Lankan government is trying to attract more filmmakers to the country through this huge project. Gunawardhana expressed gratitude for choosing Sri Lanka as the filming location, highlighting the potential of the project to increase foreign exchange earnings and promote tourism. Sri Lanka was the main location of international films like The Elephant Walk, Tarzan and Bridge on the River Kwai.
