'Revoke Lieutenant Colonel rank, Mohanlal knew everything'; BJP leader Raghunath to approach court

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP National Council Member C Raghunath called for immediate retrospection into actor Mohanlal's lieutenant colonel rank. Raghunath's remarks came after he heavily criticized the movie ‘Empuraan’.

BJP leader C Raghunath said he would move court to ensure that Mohanlal relinquish his military rank. The BJP leader’s remark comes amidst aggravating controversy over the movie ‘Empuraan’.

“The film crudely mocks the central government. I don’t think Lal was unaware of it. It needs to be investigated whether ‘Empuraan’ received foreign funds." C Raghunath also criticized the Censor Board for giving a free pass for such movies.

Meanwhile, amid the criticism, the censor details of the Mohanlal-Prithviraj film Empuraan were leaked. The leaked documents show that the censor board gave two cuts to the film. The cuts were made to reduce the length of the violence against women scene and the reference to the national flag.
