Prithviraj's magnum opus 'Empuraan', with actor Mohanlal in the lead, is now in theatres. Hours after the awaited first screening on Thursday, reviews are mostly a mixed pot. Some highly praised the technical prowess in the movie while others critiqued the moribund second half of the film.
Amidst this, a post shared by actor and politician Bineesh Kodiyeri praising the film is going viral on social media.
“In today’s India, a big budget film with superstars is bashing the Sangh Parivar for the Gujarat riots and their attempt to turn the country to a theocratic state. Even the film showed how the home minister is controlling the state of affairs in the country. It requires nerves of steel to do so. Congratulations to the film's crew," Bineesh Kodiyeri wrote on Facebook.
The post came with pictures of Mohanlal, Prithviraj, Murali Gopy, and Antony Perumbavoor.
The film, scripted by Murali Gopi, began screening in India and globally at 6 am today. The film will be released in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu. Mohanlal plays the lead character, Khureshi Ab'raam/Stephen Nedumpally.
‘Empuraan’ , the first IMAX release in Malayalam cinema history, is produced by Subhaskaran, Antony Perumbavoor and Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Lyca Productions, Aashirvad Cinemas and Sree Gokulam Movies.
