'Sudhi chettan would be happy, expect more such reels'; Renu responds to viral Instagram reel

A reel of late actor Kollam Sudhi's wife Renu is going viral on social media. Renu along with popular Instagram influencer ‘Dasettan’ created a reel for the song ‘Chanthu Kudanjoru’, almost trying to match the visuals from the original. The reel which comes with ‘steamy’ visuals is now the taking point on Malayalam social media. Despite the video already amassing massive viewership, there is no dearth of criticism coming Renu’s way.

“Why all these gimmicks in the name of reels? Can’t she marry another person?”

“It is sad to see Renu stooping this low. Sudhi Chettan would not have been happy watching this”

The above are a few of the comments that appeared on Renu’s reel.

Renu has replied to some of these comments.

“We are all artists working for a living. Just don't be mean in public, that's all. If I go with some other person leaving behind my children, you all can throw your expletives at me. But not now. I’m working hard for a living.

I will do whatever I like. Nobody is there to help me and I’m all on my own. So that’s it.

And from now on, I won’t be replying to any negative comments. Even when Sudhi Chettan was alive, I acted alongside him in a web series. Nobody had anything to talk about it. Sudhi Chettan would be proud of me if he were here today.

I didn’t find the reel obscene. And to all those people criticising me, expect more of such reels in the coming days.”
