PUNE: The nation was shocked by the death of NCP leader and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash on Wednesday morning. Now, details of the last phone call made by an air hostess who was on board the aircraft have come to light. The call was made by air hostess Pinky Mali to her father, Shivkumar Mali, shortly before the tragic crash.

Ajit Pawar and his security team left Mumbai for Baramati at around 8 am on Wednesday. After nearly 45 minutes of flight, the aircraft lost control while preparing to land and crashed. The small aircraft, operated by Delhi-based private aviation company VSR Ventures, was gutted in the fire following the crash. All those on board were killed.

“Papa, I am going to Baramati with Ajit Pawar. After dropping him there, I will go to Nanded. We can talk tomorrow,” Pinky told her father over the phone. He replied that they would speak the next day after she completed her duty. However, Shivkumar Mali said he was completely shattered after hearing the news of the accident and realising that his daughter would never return. He added that his only wish now is to receive his daughter’s body to perform her last rites.
