Videos of snake catchers often go viral on social media. Many expert snake catchers often risk their lives to catch snakes.
A video of a man catching a snake from Agumbe in Karnataka is now going viral on social media. A twelve feet long king cobra was caught and released into the wild. King cobra is the longest among the venomous snakes.
The snake was captured by Ajay Giri, Field Director of Agumbe Rain Forest Research Station (ARRS). He posted the video on Instagram. The video was later shared by Indian Forest Service officer Sushanta Nanda.
The local people first saw the king cobra on the road. Later the snake entered a house. The house owner who saw the snake informed the forest department and ARRS officials.
When the officers arrived, the snake climbed the tree. Ajay carefully brought the snake down from the tree with a stick. Then, in the presence of locals and forest department officials, the king cobra was caught, bagged and released into the forest.
