CHENNAI: Tamil actor Suriya's security officer Antony George Prabhu has been cheated of Rs 42 lakh. The fraud was perpetrated by the actor's maid Sulochana and her family. Antony George Prabhu deposited the money after receiving a promise of attractive dividends in return.

The police found that Sulochana had initially taken Rs 1 lakh from Surya's security officer to instil confidence in the investment scheme and had given him 30 grams of gold as a dividend. Having gained Antony's trust, the accused and her team made him transfer around Rs 42 lakh in January and February. It was said that the dividend would be paid in March. The police said that Antony did not have any suspicions when he transferred all this money as an investment.

Antony realized that he had been scammed when he did not get the money back even after the deadline. Sulochana and her family went into hiding after being asked for the money. With this, Antony filed a complaint with the police. The police have found that more people have been scammed by the same fraudsters. Sulochana and her family members Balaji, Bhaskar, and Vijaya Lakshmi were arrested during the subsequent investigation. Sulochana was dismissed from her job after the scam was discovered.
