CHITTOOR: A teacher has been arrested in Andhra Pradesh for allegedly tricking a minor girl student to marry her. 33-year-old Chalapathy from Gangavaram Mandal in Chittoor district is the accused. He was a teacher in a private educational institute and took the girl to Tirupati by tricking her with lies. The incident happened on the final day of her public examination.
He reached Tirupati along with the girl and got married in a temple. The accused told her that he is honest and asked her to trust him and he will take care of her. But the girl informed her parents after she noticed a change in Chalapathy’s behaviour. Following this, the police intervened and rescued the girl.
In the police investigation it was found that the accused is already married and has a daughter. He was arrested under POCSO act and was produced in the court.
